L$HC Band
Performance: Lead singer with The Lonely $treetz Hearts Club Band (LSHCB)
August, 2023
This video was taken at a larp, Dystopia Rising: New York, which is set in a post-apocalyptic world centuries after the modern day. The performers are portraying characters within the larp, but those characters are also musicians and the performance itself is very real, having taken all the rehearsal and preparation that any live performance does.
(“Larp” is a word that comes from the acronym LARP, which stands for “live action role play.” It may be easiest to think of it larp as a form of improv acting within a predetermined context.)
Larp backstory: On the eve of an annual bloodbath, these characters chose this set list to commemmorate the event, and tell the stories of those who fight and fall. Based on that context, the “vibe” of this performance might not be what you’d expect from these songs in their original contexts.
Vocals: Allegra Durante (as Gramercy Verne)
Guitar: Robert Thompson (as Johnny Nocturne)
Drums: A. Nonymous (as Isaac Murdock)
Bass: Christopher Malec (as Brandon B. Roderick)
Note: Any depicted weapons are fictional; they're made of soft foam that's safe to whack your friends with for fun.

Fake people, real music: live capture of a rock band performance at a larp in 2023.
The Lonely $treetz Hearts Club Band (LSHCB) plays Honor's Fall 2023.
This video was taken at a larp, Dystopia Rising: New York, that’s set in a post-apocalyptic world. The performers are in character as their larp characters, but the performance itself is very real, and took all the rehearsal and preparation that any live performance does.
(That exclamation “oh fuck yes” at the beginning is from a fan who recognized the song intro from our previous show, half a year before this one. <3)
